Juneteenth

MCCOY, Inc. has added Juneteenth as a staff holiday, beginning June 2022 as part of our organizational Equity Commitment. Adopted as a federal holiday in 2021, Juneteenth is a day for celebration and reflection.  This day ensures we acknowledge the long legacy of inhumanity, systemic racism, and continued inequities. James Baldwin said, “History is not the past, it is the present. We carry our history with us. We are our history.”  Juneteenth is a day of power that not only commemorates the past; it calls us to action today and always. On Juneteenth, and every day, MCCOY commits to the ongoing work in the progress of equity, inclusion, and justice in service to our community.
