Historical Development of the LGBTQ+ Community: From its Roots to Current Issues in Gender Diversity for Youth

Learn essential information to broaden understanding of the history of, and issues faced by, the LGBTQ+ Community, through and including the quickly developing knowledge and conversations relating to Trans/Nonbinary/Gender-Diverse folks and specifically, youth. Presenters: Emma Vosicky, ED @ GenderNexus and Dr. Evelyn Blackwood. Presented by GenderNexus and hosted in partnership with Hendricks County Alliance for Diversity.

This online training defines trauma & explore concepts related to trauma exposure and response, looks at trauma through a sociocultural lens, and identifies potential impacts on our bodies, brains, and health. Participants will be challenged to explore how to apply this information to their organizational contexts, and they will be introduced to the continuum of trauma approaches and the profound actions needed to be fully trauma-informed.
