Next Generation Farmers: Up to 50 Junior Farm Hands will work at our farm. 3 days of training prior to starting. June 14-July 16. Each child chooses a food to grow, learns how to take soil samples, the proper way to read a seed packet, various planting techniques for seeds & transplanting, how to build healthy soil, how to properly harvest produce, food safety & proper storage, how to create their own businesses, social media responsibility; learn how to market (pricing, displaying, customer interaction & small business bookkeeping); learn the significance of bees & how to keep them, basics of raising chickens, learn to prepare & eat the food that they grow & create their own recipes . Earn a 4H Junior Master Gardener Certificate.
