Description

Adult Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a course that teaches individuals how to recognize the signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults, and how to provide initial support until professional help is available. The training uses an action plan to help people assess risk, listen non-judgmentally, give reassurance, encourage professional help, and encourage self-help. It increases confidence in helping others, builds mental health literacy, and reduces stigma associated with mental illness. There is a sign-up limit of 4 people per organization due to the training class size.
