Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center @ Crooked Creek

FLIP Farm Stand will hire 5 youth, 30 hrs/wk for 8 wks to set-up & run the Farm Stand for 6 wks. Three youth will work with a local farmer & secure produce they sell weekly. Two youth will be in charge of marketing the farm stand along with assessing food insecurity & determining the best way to make fresh produce available to those in need. Weekly trainings on career development skills: money management, small biz skills (purchasing, budgeting, record keeping, pricing & selling), marketing, team building, project management, basic food safety skills & communication. Youth will learn about urban farming, community sustained agriculture (CSA) & volunteer twice at a local urban farm or garden. Youth will participate in Work Ready career development trainings & earn a min of 2 Work Ready badges.
