Please join the Labor Trafficking Committee for our Train-the-Trainer event. This event will be offered on two days in two locations with Indiana and is open to anyone seeking to learn more about labor trafficking or to provide training on labor trafficking themselves. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the lesser known side of human trafficking and to prepare yourself to educate others on the subject.
In 2018, under the direction of Kristin Hoffman and Kate Kimmer, the IPATH Labor Trafficking Committee created a PowerPoint training aimed at educating service providers, law enforcement agencies, community action groups, and other individuals who come into contact with populations vulnerable to labor trafficking about how to identify labor trafficking and how to address human trafficking using a survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and multi-disciplinary approach. This training has been presented throughout Indiana and even nationally at conferences.
During the Train-the-Trainer event, we will offer a more in-depth discussion of the PowerPoint slides covering labor trafficking vs. labor exploitation, typical industries targeting for labor trafficking, civil remedies and visas available to victims, and many other associated issues. The training will explain how the PowerPoint can be adapted for different purposes and audiences.
