Kids’ Voice of Indiana has launched our new Community Mobile Law Program through a generous grant from the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. As part of the Derelle Watson-Duvall Children’s Law Center, it will provide training, resources and technical assistance to Marion County attorneys and free legal advice on family law issues to both youth and adults at local community centers. The Program will be available once a month to the clients and staff of the Shepherd Community Center, Mary Riggs Neighborhood Center, and the Faye Biccard Glick Family Center for Children’s Bureau to be a free legal resource for them. For more information, times, and locations for the program please go to our website, or contact Emily Angel, Program Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 317-558-2870, ext. 350.
The Community Mobile Law Program provides: (1) Free legal advice to both youth and adult clients at these community centers by having on-site legal clinics staffed by attorneys one day a month to answer questions, provide legal advice, and offer referrals to pro bono attorneys and other resources, (2) These free services will provide advice in matters of divorce, custody, guardianship, adoption, child abuse and neglect, and other family law issues, (3) There will be eight informational sessions, free and open to the public, on family law and other topics. Presentations to youth would include: social media safety, juvenile delinquency, and other topics.
